Letter to Students from the President, University Provost, and VP for Inclusive Excellence & Student Affairs

(Sent to all Antioch students on August 28, 2026.)

Dear Antioch Students,

You may be hearing from your instructors or classmates about recent developments in Antioch University's relationship with the Coalition for the Common Good (CCG). In this message, we want to provide you with information about these changes along with a clear explanation of what they mean for you as a student.

What is happening is a high-level governance dispute regarding the administrative structure of Antioch University and the CCG. We are vigorously defending our right to continue having our own Antioch University President, Board of Governors, and institutional autonomy. This is without doubt an important question for our institution. It is also one where we feel confident the facts are on our side, and we will prevail. If you would like to learn more, I invite you to read the letter I just sent to faculty and staff.

The key thing we want to emphasize for students is that we do not expect these high-level governance issues to disrupt our courses, degree programs, or student financial aid. Routine operations of the University will continue. Classes will continue as scheduled, and students like you will continue pursuing your studies with passion and purpose. Faculty and staff will continue to do the work associated with their offices.
