As a graduate of Antioch’s Clinical Psychology program (PsyD, ’89) it is so easy to say that Antioch has given me tremendous opportunity and guided my purpose. I graduated as a well prepared psychologist, and have pursued my goals. Could I have done so without Antioch? Honestly, I don’t think so.
Through the years I’ve been a donor to Antioch University, particularly the New England campus. The faculty and staff there inspired me to found and support the Roger Peterson Distinguished Speaker Series, as well as the Roger Peterson Scholarship program (to assist students who might not otherwise attend the PsyD program).
For a few years, I was a member of the Board of Trustees of the New England campus.
Last year, I had the pleasure of meeting with President L. Varlotta when she came to Washington, D.C. to meet with alumni and donors. I found her to be a remarkable, focused, purpose-driven woman. We had a good, sometimes serious, discussion. Dr. Varlotta is easy to like, and I respect her tremendously. It is imperative that Antioch maintain its autonomy and be on equal footing with any other institution.
