Dear Faculty and Staff —
In the interest of transparency, and to help you understand what information students might be asking you about, I am forwarding the letter that we sent to students earlier today. In drafting this letter we tried to be open and forthright with students about the ongoing governance conflict with the CCG, without causing undue concern or asking them to take any sort of action. I believe it’s their right to be informed about these big issues facing their university. Thank you all for supporting our students in these times.
Sincerely,
Lori

Dear Antioch Students,
We write today to share a positive development related to the ongoing governance dispute with the leadership of the Coalition for the Common Good, which we co-founded three-and-a-half years ago. Just last week, the Common Pleas Court of Greene County, Ohio issued an injunction. This order provides many of the protections we have been seeking regarding Antioch University’s institutional autonomy and self-governance. These protections will be in place for the duration of this case, which we first wrote to you about at the end of August.
As we said then, and repeat here, we expect the academic status quo to hold firmly. This means you should go about your studies without worry. The routine operations of the University continue without interruption, accreditation has not changed, our missionremains the same, and students like you are still pursuing your studies with passion and purpose.
If you have any questions, we’re here to help. For inquiries about your academic program, courses, or degree requirements, please contact your program or academic leader. For questions about student support, resources, or your experience at Antioch, you can reach out to the Office of Inclusive Excellence and Student Affairs at [email protected]. And if you would like to learn more details about the dispute between Antioch University and the CCG, we have compiled a comprehensive set of documents, letters of support, and other information on the Antioch Forward website.
Thank you for choosing to pursue your studies at Antioch University. Your efforts both in and out of the classroom are our priority, and we are committed to making them as positive and impactful as possible. We are glad you are here doing the work the world needs now.
Sincerely,
Lori Varlotta
